Penang to move into Phase Two of National Recovery Plan

Penang will move into Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan tomorrow.
This, after the state reported lower Covid-19 infections, moderate utilization of ICU beds and having more than 10 percent of the population vaccinated.
Five other states – Kelantan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis and Terengganu – had moved into Phase Two yesterday.

Khairy Jamulddin says two people have been arrested for allegedly trying to sell vaccine appointment slots.
He adds that the Covid Immunization Task Force is cooperating with the police on the matter, and is also working on plugging any loopholes to prevent future manipulation of the system.

Authorities say a contribution of half a million doses of the Sinovac vaccine from China will arrive by the middle of this month.
This is on top of the one million doses of AstraZeneca from Japan…and the one million Pfizer doses donated by the US…that arrived in the country over the past week.

EPF offices within EMCO zones will be allowed to operate to help facilitate the government’s assistance schemes.
The Senior Minister for Security says these offices will be allowed to open from 9am to 1pm, with 60 percent of staff in attendance.
