Malaysia hits new record of daily COVID-19 cases

Malaysia reported its highest number of new COVID-19 infections, with 9,180 cases today.
According to Health Ministry data, Selangor had the most infections at 4,400, ahead of KL, and Negeri Sembilan.
It also recorded 77 fatalities, raising the death toll to 5,980.

Fake doctor did not give out COVID-19 vaccines in Sarawak
A man in Sarawak, who was recently nabbed for allegedly impersonating a doctor at a COVID-19 vaccination center, did not administer any vaccines to recipients.
The state's health department says according to investigations, the suspect was never assigned for any duties.
Meanwhile, it has boosted the vaccination center's security and management to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.

Selangor expects to enter Phase 2 by September
Selangor hopes to move to Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan by September.
The state's Menteri Besar says the Enhanced MCO currently enforced in several subdistricts is to curb the spread of COVID-19, adding that the situation is expected to improve soon.
He adds that the state will up its efforts to meet set criteria, including boosting its vaccination rate.
