Grim milestone as new COVID-19 cases hit 11k

Malaysia's number of new COVID-19 cases reached five figures for the first time.
11,079 infections were detected nationwide, with Selangor reporting the bulk of the total.
This is followed by KL and Negeri Sembilan, with over 1,000 cases each.
The Health Ministry also recorded 125 more fatalities.

KJ assures safe reopening of IDCC COVID-19 vaccination center
The Immunisation Program's coordinating minister has assured that the IDCC COVID-19 vaccination center in Shah Alam will be safe, once it reopens tomorrow.
Khairy Jamaluddin says several precautionary measures have been put in place, after more than 200 workers tested positive for the coronavirus...
“By shutting it down today, it will be safe for people to come for their appointments from tomorrow onwards. We will change the personnel as well as make sure that the PPV is sanitized.”
Meanwhile, Khairy has urged those who recently visited the center to monitor themselves for any symptoms of infection.

Daily vaccination rate among highest in the world – PM
Malaysia is on track to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19 before the end of the year.
PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was referring to the new record for daily vaccinations yesterday, after over 420,000 people were given the jab.
He says the vaccination rate was among the highest in the world.
