Jul 16, 2021
Malaysia is expected to report fewer than 1,000 Covid-19 cases a day by as early as October.
Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says this can be achieved if 150,000 people per day are given their second dose.
Currently, over 8.6 million people have received their first shot, which accounts for almost 37% of the adult population.
Malaysia reported a record breaking 13, 215 Covid-19 cases yesterday.
This is the third consecutive day that daily cases passed the 5 figure mark.
Three states recorded four-digit cases, namely Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and KL.
Vaccine authorities have clarified that the official date for walk-in jabs for senior citizens in the Klang Valley will be announced soon.
This following the Health Minister’s announcement that the pilot programme would begin immediately.
As such, it urged those who are over 60 without appointments to not go to PPVs today until details have been announced.
