MOH told to identify children who need aid after losing parents to Covid-19

The Health Ministry has been asked to compile a list of children who lost one or both of their parents to Covid-19.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says this is to ensure that aid can be extended to them.

This, as Malaysia reported a surge in Covid-19 infections yesterday, with 13,034 cases.

Selangor alone recorded almost half of the total, followed by KL, Johor and Negeri Sembilan.

Another 134 patients succumbed to the virus.

A viral message alleging Negeri Sembilan will offer walk-in Covid-19 vaccinations next month is not true.

State authorities stressed that vaccinations will only be given to those with an appointment.

10 contract doctors from the severely hit Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang have quit over the past three past weeks, submitting 24-hour resignation notices.

They told the Malaysian Insight that burnout, a lack of career opportunities, overload and stress were some of the reasons for quitting their jobs on such short notice.
