New school year to start March 21, 2022

The 2022/2023 academic year is set to begin from March 21st next year.

The Education Ministry says it will start immediately after the end of the third school semester.

Schools in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu will begin the third semester from January 2nd next year.

Meanwhile, those in other states and territories will start the following day.

Cholera case in Selangor detected last month

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of a cholera case in Petaling.

The Selangor health department says the infection was detected late last month.

The patient fully recovered after receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, it says no new cases have been reported since.

Less than half of Msians support gender equality

A recent study has found that less than half of Malaysians support gender equality.

The study by the Women's Aid Organisation also found that some 53% of people believe domestic violence is a normal reaction to stress or frustration.

The worrying survey also noted that 45% of the 1,000 respondents believe women who stay with their abusive partners are responsible for the ongoing abuse.
