Govt launches Ops Pasar to monitor vegetable price hike
Nov 29, 2021
Ops Pasar (Sayur 2) has been launched nationwide to investigate the recent rise in vegetable prices.
The Domestic, Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry says it will not take complaints from consumers and traders lightly.
As of Saturday, over 80 notices have been issued to traders to confirm if they are making excessive profits from the sale of vegetables.
Malaysia reported a drop in Covid-19 cases yesterday, with 4,239 infections.
Only 1.7% of them reported moderate to severe symptoms.
Face masks will be made mandatory in England again, in shops and on public transport, due to concerns over the new Omicron Covid-19 variant.
It will now also be compulsory for all travellers arriving in the UK to take a PCR test and isolate themselves until they provide a negative result.
Omicron has been classified as a variant of concern by the WHO and was detected in Africa.
