New COVID-19 cases still below 5,000

New COVID-19 infections in the country rose after the Health Ministry detected 4,965 cases today.
It’s up by 703 infections compared to yesterday.
However, despite the rise, it’s the fourth consecutive day that daily cases stayed below 5 thousand.

No chariot processions this Thaipusam
No chariot processions will be allowed to take place during Thaipusam next month due to COVID-19 concerns.
National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Sadique says it's also because of the emergence of the new Omicron variant.
Meanwhile, she says SOPs for Christmas will be announced soon.

DS Najib Razak’s application to add new evidence dismissed
The Court of Appeal has dismissed Datuk Seri Najib Razak's application to add new evidence in his SRC International case.
The court will proceed with announcing its decision on the former PM's conviction appeal tomorrow.
Datuk Seri Najib's lawyers had earlier sought to postpone today's hearing, after a member of the defence team came down with COVID-19.
