PM: Govt flood aid to be comprehensive

The distribution of all aid for flood victims to be implemented in a comprehensive and effective manner, with a total allocation of 1.4 billion ringgit.
The PM says the government had also made several improvements in relation to compassionate aid.
This includes the 1,000 ringgit cash aid for every head of household affected by floods even if they were not evacuated to relief centres.
State governments have begun making compassionate aid payments from Monday and distribution of the aid is expected to complete by the end of this week.
Flooding from continuous rain is expected to hit four states in the Peninsular.
Parts of Kelantan and Terengganu are expected to face floods starting tomorrow, while flooding is forecast in several districts in Pahang and Johor from Saturday.
There has been a steady decline in the number of people at flood evacuation centres.
Currently, over 8 thousand people are taking shelter in 5 states.
The vast majority of evacuees are in Pahang and Selangor.
Malaysia's daily Covid-19 cases have crossed the 3 thousand mark for the first time since Christmas day.
This is after we reported 3,683 infections yesterday.
