No plans to close boarding school despite clusters

Jan 21, 2022

no plans to close boarding school despite clusters

The Health Ministry has no plans to order all boarding schools to close, despite a rise in COVID-19 clusters at such premises.

Its Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says closing them would be a step backward as over 90% of adolescents have already received the vaccine.

He adds that those who are infected can undergo quarantine at their hostel or at home, so long as their symptoms are mild.

This, as some 50 education clusters were detected after schools reopened, over half of which involve boarding schools.

Vaccinations for kids aged 5 to 11 will not be mandatory

COVID-19 vaccinations for children aged 5 to 11 will not be mandatory.

Khairy Jamaluddin says the Health Ministry’s approach will focus on educating parents that the vaccine is safe and effective against the coronavirus.

The Health Minister adds that a survey they conducted found that less than 60 percent of parents agreed to having their kids immunised…

He hopes that more parents will allow their kids to take the jab, once more children receive the injection.

The immunisation program for children aged 5 to 11 will start next month.

Injected with distilled water to get fake vaccination cert

no plans to close boarding school despite clusters

Police have revealed that there are individuals who are willing to be injected with distilled water just to get a fake COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

This is after they recorded the statements of 23 people in Terengganu, to assist in investigations into a doctor who allegedly issued fake certs in Marang.

Cops add that all of them admitted to not getting the COVID vaccine, with some admitting to taking injections of distilled or salt water.
