Kids' COVID Vaccinations To Start Next Week

The programme to vaccinate young kids against COVID-19 will start on February 3rd.
The Health Ministry says it will involve some 4 million children between the ages of 5 to 12.
Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali says for a start, those with health problems will be vaccinated in hospital, while others will take their jabs at PPVs.
Vaccinations will soon be expanded to other locations, such as schools and off-site PPVs.
For now, the vaccinations will be limited to Klang Valley residents, but it will be expanded nationwide soon.

Govt Finalising Umrah SOPs
The government will announce the new SOPs for Umrah pilgrimages, once the relevant agencies scrutinise and fine tune the guidelines.
The Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister says they include quarantine procedures.
She said this, after the Cabinet decided that such pilgrimages will resume on February 8th, after a month-long suspension.

COVID Cases Cross 5k Mark
Daily COVID-19 cases in Malaysia have crossed 5 thousand for the first time since early December.
According to the Health Director General, 5,439 new infections were logged today.
It's nearly 700 cases higher compared to yesterday.
