Physical campaigning, talks, and house visits will be allowed throughout the campaign period for the Johor state election.

The Election Commission says talks and campaigns can only go ahead at party offices or operation centres with attendance capped at 100.

Parties are also allowed to make house visits in groups of no more than five people while wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing measures.

They are banned from entering homes.

Among the COVID-19 SOPs for polling day next month, voters who show signs of infection will cast their votes at designated facilities.

The Health Ministry has been given up to three weeks to propose SOPs for the reopening of Malaysia’s borders.

The PM says the matter will be presented to the Cabinet, to decide whether to reopen borders fully or with restrictions involving selected countries.

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says there must be a balance between the lives and livelihoods of the rakyat.

He was responding to the National Recovery Council chairman’s statement recently, on the importance of reopening international borders by next month.
