New Close Contact Quarantine Rules Announced

New SOPs for COVID-19 close contacts will come into effect on March 1st. 

The Health Minister says close contacts aged 18 and above who are asymptomatic, and have received the booster shot will not need to undergo quarantine.  

However, they will have to do RTK self-tests on the first and third days after exposure. 

If they are positive, they must report it to MySejahtera and undergo isolation. 

However, those who are symptomatic must undergo self-isolation for five days.

On another note, Khairy says the the Health Ministry has extended the deadline for Sinovac primary recipients, and senior citizens to get their booster shots by March 31. 

Those who fail to do so will have their vaccination status changed to incomplete.

PICKids walk-ins to start next month

The PICKids vaccination programme for 5-11 year olds will accept walk-ins at selected vaccination centres starting March 1.

The Deputy Health MInister says state health departments will release the list of these centres via their respective websites.

So far, the PICKids programme has vaccinated some 661 thousand young children.
