Floods continue to worsen

The number of flood evacuees in Johor has risen further, to nearly 5,300 overnight.
A total of 53 evacuation centers have been opened throughout the state…in the districts of Segamat, Kota Tinggi, Kluang, Mersing, Batu Pahat, Muar and Pontian.
Meanwhile, there are some 220 evacuees in Matunggong and Beluran in Sabah…while 280 victims have been forced to seek shelter in Rompin, Pahang.
Various efforts are being taken to cater to the high demand for passport renewals and applications.
The Home Ministry says this includes adding more passport printing machines and improving the online appointment system…in addition to having 20 passport issuing offices operating seven days a week.
