Government won't budge on EPF withdrawal decision

The government has made it clear, that it will not allow any more EPF special withdrawals.
Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan says 145 billion ringgit was taken out by contributors during the Covid pandemic.
This has left more than half of EPF members with less than 10 thousand ringgit in their savings, with some even having less than five thousand in their accounts.
This comes after Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin this week urged the government to allow another round of EPF withdrawals to help people make ends meet.

Deputy Speaker Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor says he’s actually getting feedback from the public about lawmakers misbehaving in the House, including comments about how the situation is like ‘a zoo’.
Datuk Ramli also reminded MP’s to give their full attention during proceedings, and not to have their own ‘small meetings’ when others are speaking.

The Works Ministry says it is speeding up talks with the relevant parties, to allow toll payments using different digital payment providers.
It adds that a pilot project will be conducted soon, to study the implications before the new system can be finalized.
