The Dewan Negara has approved the Sexual Offences against Children Amendment Bill, after it was tabled for third reading.
It aims to better protect kids against all forms of exploitation and abuse.
The de-facto Law Minister says the amendment takes into account the changes in technology and sophisticated criminal cases…which required the definition or interpretation of the crime to be expanded.
It will also pave the way for better cooperation between the relevant ministries and telcos, to monitor and remove pornographic content found online.
