JAL Plane On Fire In Tokyo

Jan 02, 2024

jal plane on fire in tokyo

Multiple news reports are reporting that a passenger plane caught fire on the runway at Japan's Haneda airport.

It's believed that over 300 passengers and crew were on board the Japan Airlines jet, which was flying from Hokkaido to Tokyo.

Local broadcaster NHK says all of them were safely evacuated.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, but reports suggest the airline could have collided with a Japanese coast guard plane.

The incident came just a day after Japan was rocked by several powerful earthquakes that left 48 people dead.

The government's PADU centralised database will help plug leakages in the distribution of government aid and subsidies.

PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says it's a vital part of effects to ensure that assistance is only channeled to deserving individuals.

Padu contains socioeconomic information, such as household income and the types of assistance they currently receive.

Meanwhile, Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has urged people to register with PADU and check their information in the database, to ensure that it is accurate.

People have until the end of March to do so.

Meanwhile, the head of CyberSecurity Malaysia says PADU must undergo regular cybersecurity audits, to help protect against cyberattacks.

He says PADU needs to keep up with advances in technology, because the data will be a valuable target for cyber criminals.
