Cops Warn Of New Scam Targeting Seniors

Police are warning the public of a new syndicate, targeting senior citizens with fraudulent part-time job offers as hotel booking agents.
Victims are required to bank in their own money to get started…which they’re later unable to withdraw without paying high fees and charges.
Bukit Aman says its so far received 21 reports regarding this scam…involving losses of over 700 thousand ringgit.

The Commission says this is one of its main areas of focus at the moment.
It comes after the MACC detained a senior DBKL officer last week, for allegedly receiving monthly bribes to let foreigners run businesses in KL.
