Meta The Most Compliant With M'sian Laws
Jul 25, 2024
Meta is the best among the social media platforms when it comes to complying with Malaysian laws.
The parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp has a compliance rate of 79 to 88 percent.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, however, says the other social media platforms are lagging far behind.
TikTok has a compliance rate of 76 percent…followed by Telegram at 63 percent.
X (formerly known as Twitter) was the worst, with a compliance rate of only 25 percent.
Despite the higher compliance rate…Fahmi adds that Meta still needs to improve the way it handles rising cases of online scams being carried out on Facebook.

He says this should be taught to kids as early as two to three years old.
He said this in the wake of the kidnapping of a six-year-old girl in Johor recently, who was found safe on Tuesday.
