PIBGN: Limit Outdoor Activities For Now

Schools should take the necessary precautions, amid the hot spell affecting parts of the country.  

According to the National PTA Collaborative Council, this includes limiting outdoor activities. 

Meanwhile PE sessions should be held indoors, and limited to light exercises.  

Students should also be given leeway to wear appropriate clothing, instead of just school uniforms.  

This, as MetMalaysia said the hot weather is expected to last until mid-September.  

Meanwhile, Rompin, Pahang and 6 areas in Sarawak were under a level-1 heat alert today.  

They reported maximum temperatures of between 35-37 degrees Celcius for at least three consecutive days.

The Transport Ministry says the LRT 3 line from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia, Klang is expected to start carrying passengers from the third quarter of next year.  

It adds that the Cabinet has agreed to reinstate the five LRT3 stations which were previously cancelled, namely Tropicana, Temasya, Raja Muda, Bukit Raja, and Bandar Botanik.

The Veterinary Services Department says there has been a sharp spike in reports of animal abuse and neglect recently, due to greater awareness of the issue.   

2,100 abuse and neglect complaints have been received in the first six months of the year, compared to 2,600 reports for the whole of last year.

Authorities have extended the remand order of a man involved in the kidnapping of a 6-year-old girl from a Johor shopping mall.  

The 31-year-old was arrested at a budget hotel in Batang Kali, Selangor...where the girl was found safe days after her disappearance.
