Social Media Co's On Board With Licensing

Social media platforms are ready to comply with the government’s new requirement for these operators to be licensed.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said this, after meeting with officials from Meta, Google and TikTok during a three-day working visit to Singapore.

He adds that the MCMC will also publish FAQs tomorrow that will provide more details on the framework and mechanism of the licensing.

The Malaysian Employers Federation is urging companies to implement policies to tackle work-related cyberbullying.

It explained that this is crucial, because conventional workplace bullying is now being done online.

The federation warned that failure to create a safe work environment could see victims experience anxiety, depression, and a drop in job satisfaction... which in turn can lead to higher absenteeism and turnover rates.

The Road Transport Department will summon the parents of the boy who was caught on video going on a joyride in a car with his two younger siblings.

It explained that it'll be carrying out its own investigation into the incident, even though police have already questioned the parents.

The Health Ministry has ordered an immediate stop to the sale of cough syrup-flavoured ice cream by a popular local franchise.

The company has since issued an apology and has withdrawn the product.
