Compulsory PERKESO Contributions For Hawkers Next Year

Starting January 1st, it will be compulsory for hawkers and petty traders to contribute to PERKESO.  

The social security fund says this will allow them to get financial support due to work-related accidents.  

According to PERKESO, contributions will be made via its social security scheme for the self-employed, which also covers e-hailling drivers and food-delivery riders. 

PERKESO will work with local governments ahead of the deadline, to raise awareness about the mandatory contributions.

This, as Iran launched a large-scale missile attack on Israel, in response to Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon.  

Meanwhile, Wisma Putra says it is preparing to evacuate 15 Malaysians and their families from Lebanon.

A school in KL has confirmed that one of its students died at the premises yesterday. 

It said it is giving its full cooperation to the ongoing police investigation, and urged people NOT to spread unverified information about the incident.
