Driving and riding recklessly was the main cause of fatal traffic accidents over the Deepavali holiday.

Bukit Aman says there were 60 fatalities from over six thousand accidents during this four-day period.

However, the cops say the number of accidents and fatalities among motorcyclists saw a slight decline compared to last year.

The government has plans to amend the Registration of Criminals and Undesirable Persons Act.

According to the Home Ministry, this is aimed at clearing the names of certain individuals, who are still on police records even though no criminal charges have been filed against them.

This includes those who were previously under investigation…those who were called in as witnesses…or those given a discharge not amounting to an acquittal.

Mental health among Malaysian youth is currently at a moderate level.

The Deputy Prime Minister says they had a score of over 71 in the 2023 Malaysian Youth Mental Health Survey...which serves as an important early indicator to understand the tendency of youth to face mental health issues.

The DPM also called on all relevant ministries and government agencies to share the responsibility of addressing the problem.

The Kelantan government is proposing building a 100km wall along the state’s border with Thailand…in a bid to combat smuggling activities.

And, Malaysia and Singapore will jointly nominate the Chingay street parade for inclusion in the UNESCO Intangible Heritage listing next year.
