doctor arrested again over misconduct allegations

A doctor in Penang has been taken into custody again, after a third allegation of misconduct was made against him.  

This, after a woman lodged a police report on Friday, accusing him of inappropriate behavior during a recent heart checkup.   

The medical officer was first detained last month, after he was accused of behaving inappropriately at a govt hospital.  

After that incident, a woman came forward to accuse him of similar offences at a private clinic in Pulau Tikus two years ago.

Around 1,300 road accidents were reported nationwide yesterday, with 19 accident-related deaths.  

This means that nearly 3,100 crashes happened over the weekend, with 34 road fatalities. 

This raises the total number of accidents to 115 thousand since the start of 2025, meaning that on average, 71 crashes happen nationwide every hour!

The Johor government has vowed to cover the medical expenses of two students from the state, who were involved in a road accident in Jordan recently.  

Earlier reports said that four Malaysian students were hurtin the crash, with one of them suffering serious injuries.  

Meanwhile the Higher Education Ministry says it is continually monitoring their situation.

The General Operations Force has deployed three battalions to beef up security along the border with Thailand. 

This, following Saturday's separatist attack targeting a police station in the southern Thai province of Narathiwat.

The Social Welfare Dept will take custody of 9 children linked to GISB until they reach the age of 18, after no one claimed the kids.  

They were among hundreds of children who were rescued last year from alleged exploitation at over a dozen charity homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
