MoT: Cable Thieves Are A National Security Threat

The Transport Minister wants authorities to come down hard on cable thieves that target our railway services.
Anthony Loke saysthey cannot be compared to regular crimes, as cable thefts can pose a huge risk to public safety and national security.
He was commenting on reports of cable thefts along the East Coast Rail Link project, which COULD disrupt its planning and operational timeline.
The minister also pointed out that cable thefts had disrupted several KTM services in the past.
Cable thefts had also caused major disruptions to the KLIA Transit and KLIA Ekspres sevices back in April.

Authorities are continuing to work hard to combat the spread of online child sexual abuse material.
In a joint statement, the MCMC and PDRM said over 1,500 offensive social media posts involving children were detected from January 1st to the 15th of this month.
Around 94% of such posts were successfully taken down, thanks to public complaints and cooperation with digital platform providers.
Meanwhile, a recent operation saw 13 people being detained across multiple states for child pornography offences.

The HR Ministry has warned employers that they can face harsh legal action for not paying minimum wage.
It was responding to recent media reports, claiming that some express and tour bus drivers were being paid WELL below the minimum wage of RM1,700, while some were not paid any base salary at all.
