Unis To Study SST Expansion Impact

Universities have been ordered to study the impact of the SST expansion on students.   

The Higher Education Ministry says the study will include things such as utility bills for students who rent their accommodations.   

This is after a students’ group said the SST expansion would impact their cost of living,.

It said it would be due to added taxes on things like digital subscriptions, electronic repairs, laundry services, and online purchases.

Wisma Putra says it’s working with Indonesian authorities to confirm if a Malaysian was on board a passenger ferry that capsized in the Bali Strait recently.  

According to earlier reports, at least 6 people are confirmed dead, while around 30 others are still missing.

The Health Ministry is in the final stages of talks, to address the issue of long waiting times for treatment at government hospitals. 

It says it has already identified several key contributing factors, including manpower shortages and high workloads.

PERKESO has voiced concern about the growing number of young workers being diagnosed with non-communicable diseases.   

This, as over 530 workers in their 30s applied for social security benefits last year due NCDs, which is more than double compared to a decade ago.

Tech tycoon Elon Musk has announced that he’s setting up a new political party called the America Party.  

He says it aims to challenge the current US political system which is dominated by the Republican and Democratic parties.   

This comes weeks after his public feud with President Donald Trump.
