MOE Heeds Royal Decree To Address Bullying
Aug 19, 2025

The Education Ministry will heed the decree by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, to address and prevent bullying in schools.
The ministry adds that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s directive should serve as a reminder of the negative impacts bullying has on the nation.
As such, it will implement a comprehensive anti-bullying campaign across all educational institutions under its administration, starting at the primary school level.
This, amid several high-profile bullying cases recently.

In a related development, Johor has become the first state to set up a special anti-bullying committee.
This, as part of efforts to create awareness and educate students about the dangers of bullying.

The public is being urged not to blow cases involving the national flag out of proportion, as it can lead to unrest.
Instead, the Home Ministry says such matters should be left to the authorities, who will carry out investigations professionally and responsibly.
It adds that stern legal action will also be taken against anyone who displays the Jalur Gemilang improperly for malicious purposes.
This, amid several recent cases involving the wrongful depiction of the national flag.

The Prime Minister says he will consider a one-off additional 100-ringgit aid for university students to help them cope with the rising cost of living.
He says the matter will be given due consideration in Budget 2026, which will be tabled in October.
This is on top of the earlier announced 100-ringgit aid for all Malaysians aged 18 above.

The Finance Ministry says the government will not embark on any mega projects that have limited impact on the people.
Instead, it will prioritize programmes that truly benefit the lives of the rakyat, such as repairing schools and rural clinics.
