Police are prepared to open investigations into the circulation of leaked documents allegedly showing the handwriting of the late Zara Qairina.

This, amid the ongoing inquest into the teenager’s death.

The cops are also once again reminding the public to act responsibly on social media, and avoid spreading information that could jeopardize the inquest.

Those in the entertainment industry will be granted legal protection under the recently-passed Gig Workers Bill…even in the absence of written contracts.

The HR Ministry says before this, workers were often unprotected in disputes within the creative sector…where verbal agreements are common.

It adds that the new Bill now addresses this longstanding issue, offering legal recognition to verbal or implied contracts.

More than half a million ringgit has been allocated to fix the damage caused by the recent earthquakes in Segamat, Johor.

The Works Ministry says 15 government buildings there – including hospitals and schools -  are in need of minor but urgent repairs that need to be carried out before the end of the year.

It also assured that the buildings are currently safe, and are not a safety hazard to the public.

In a related development, Malaysia has agreed to send humanitarian aid to Afghanistan following the powerful earthquake that struck the country over a week ago.

The government will also consider sending financial assistance, with the amount to the determined by the Cabinet later.

Authorities say security has been tightened at all Liquified Natural Gas facilities in Bintulu, Sarawak following an unspecified threat against these buildings.

And, the government says Malaysia currently has at least 4,100 electric vehicle charging points nationwide, to cater to the growing demand for EV’s.
