Zayn Rayyan's Mom Guilty Of Neglect

The mother of deceased six-year-old autistic boy Zayn Rayyan, has been found guilty of neglect resulting in physical harm to her son two years ago.
The PJ Sessions Court judge ruled that the prosecution has successfully proven its case beyond reasonable doubt against 30-year-old Ismanira Abdul Manaf.
She now faces a maximum 20 years in prison, a fine of RM50,000, or both.
Zayn Rayyan had been reported missing back in December 2023…shortly after his mom had picked him up from school.
His body was found the next day in a stream, about 200 meters from his home.

The cops could soon be keeping an eye on schools in real-time.
The Home Ministry says its looking into the possibility of linking school CCTV systems with PDRM’s monitoring network, so that police can monitor safety measures in schools round the clock.
This is on top of the government directive for cops to enhance their presence around schools through increased patrols.

There’ve been calls to increase the EPF withdrawal age to at least 65.
According to the World Bank, our current withdrawal age of 55 is too low, given the country’s ageing population and longer life expectancy.
It adds that delaying withdrawals will also allow retirees to receive a larger payout from the EPF…since their funds will spend longer in their accounts gaining interest.
