Kelantan Floods Worsen

Nov 23, 2025

kelantan floods worsen

The number of flood evacuees in Kelantan has surged past 2,500.

According to the Social Welfare Dept's portal, they're housed in temporary shelters in Kota Bharu, Bachok and Tumpat.

Meanwhile, another 300 people have been evacuated in Terengganu, while 30 are displaced in Kedah.

JKM's portal also showed one flood shelter being activated in Perlis, but there are no evacuees yet.

This, as Kelantan's Education Dept advised SPM candidates in flood prone areas to relocate to hostels for the time being.

It's to ensure they can focus on their exams without any interruption.

Expect wet conditions in the North and East Coast of the Peninsular for the next few days.

This is after MetMalaysia issued a continuous HEAVY rain warning, Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Bachok and Pasir Puteh, Kelantan until tomorrow.

Other areas in Kelantan and Terengganu, as well as Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak are expected to experience continuous rainfall until Wednesday.

Wisma Putra says around 4,000 M’sian travelers in Thailand are safe, after being stranded by floods in Hat Yai and Songkhla.

It adds that weather conditions there are expected to improve and flood waters could start receding from tomorrow.
