Floods: 160 SPM Candidates Relocated In Kedah

The SPM will go ahead as scheduled, despite the floods currently affecting 8 states.
The Education Ministry says several SOPs and mechanisms are in place to assist candidates impacted by rising waters.
This, as over 160 candidates in Kedah had to be transferred to alternative exam centres, after flash floods struck their school in Jitra while they were taking their Bahasa Melayu Paper 1.
Meanwhile, the Selangor govt says it will provide free transport for flood-affected SPM candidates in the state, for travel between their flood shelters and examination centres.

Speaking of the SPM, Johor's education dept has installed metal detectors at its examination centres.
It's to prevent candidates from bringing prohibited items including devices that can record or transmit info.
Also, the Education Ministry is looking into a viral report, claiming that an SPM exam paper was leaked, but for now it has not received any official reports.

JKM's portal reported over 19,000 flood evacuees across 8 states.
Close to 10,000 of the evacuees are in Kelantan, 3,300 people are displaced in Perak, while Selangor has 2,700 evacuees.
The remainder are housed at temporary shelters in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Terengganu and Pahang.
Also, NADMA says each household that are registered with flood relief centres will receive a compassionate payment of RM1,000
In addition to this, Selangor has announced a RM500 cash aid to families affected by floods in the state.

- The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry says it has found NO cases of motorists being shortchanged under Budi95, with all petrol stations giving customers the correct amount of petrol.
- Floods have also prompted KTMB to cancel its MySawasdee train services between KL Sentral and Hatyai, Thailand for Nov 28th and December 1st.
