No Interference In PM's Ex-Polsec Probe

The PM has denied accusations of any interference in the MACC probe involving his former political secretary.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told the Dewan Rakyat the anti-graft commission is given complete freedom to conduct any probe.
This, following last week's arrest of Datuk Seri Syamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and 2 others to assist in a corruption investigation.

Separately, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced a RM500 million allocation to repair public infrastructure that's been damaged due to recent floods.
He says state and federal departments have been ordered to conduct damage assessments, and implement repair works immediately.
Meanwhile, Kelantan has fully recovered from the recent floods, with all evacuees at its last two remaining shelters were allowed to return home.
This leaves fewer than 7 thousand evacuees in Perak, Selangor, Perlis, Kedah, Pahang and Terengganu.

An SPM candidate in Pahang who was seen swimming through floodwaters to sit for the exams, is confirmed to be safe.
According to the State Education Dept, the student has since been taken to a hostel and is ready to sit for the exams.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi will assume the duties and responsibilities of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister effective tomorrow.
He will replace Datuk Ewon Benedick, who resigned from the cabinet last month.
Ewon has since been appointed as one of Sabah's three deputy chief ministers.
