Influencers Have To Declare Income With IRB

Social media influencers must now declare their income.

The Inland Revenue Board adds that this includes any free products and gifts received for reviews or promotions.

This requirement is outlined in new tax guidelines issued by LHDN for social media and digital influencers.

The board explained that influencers should be recognized as a profession because they are able to generate substantial income.

The Defense Ministry says the number of National Service Training Program recruits is expected to increase to around 100,000.

This figure is with the addition of higher education institutions being used for training.

The ministry is targeting 25 thousand recruits to be trained at designated camps, while the remainder will be trained at these tertiary institutions.

Separately, The Defense Ministry has lodged a police report against the person who publicly shared a list of appointments in the armed forces, including the names of senior military officers.

It explained that such details are classified and should have never been revealed to anyone.

However, the ministry refused to provide any further details regarding the individual suspected of leaking the list.

The government has begun disbursing payments for phase one of this year’s STR aid.  

The Prime Minister says some five million people will receive their financial assistance in phases starting today.
