Malaysians dread going to the dentist
Jul 20, 2020
Malaysians dread going to the dentist.
The recent National Health and Morbidity Survey, involving 17 thousand people, shows that only 25 percent visited the dentist over the last 12 months.
It found that the elderly were the least likely category to seek oral healthcare, while those aged between 10 and 14 years had the highest prevalence of visiting the dentist.
A dentist at UM says bad experiences with pain are among the reasons Malaysians avoid going to the dentist, but other factors also include a lack of access, awareness as well as the cost of treatment.
Former Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman says he was treated well during his 11-hour questioning by the MACC on Friday.
He clarified that it was done with his consent after the Teoh Beng Hock Trust for Democracy called it a form of psychological torture.
Syed Saddiq was called in by MACC last week believed to be over some cash that was reported missing from his home in March.
