5 schools in Kedah have been closed and a targeted enhanced MCO has been ordered in 4 localities following the growing number of Covid-19 cases linked to the Sivagangga cluster in the state.
This will affect those in parts of Kubang Pasu and Padang Terap living within 1km radius of a restaurant in Kubang Pasu, in which the owner is said to have tested positive for Covid-19.
The Health Ministry says 20 people in the Sivagangga cluster had been found to have been infected with Covid-19, most of which are Malaysians.
This comes as we reported 14 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing our overall tally to just under 9,000.
There are currently 210 active cases.
The government will step up efforts to help youth succeed including in education under Budget 2021.
The Finance Ministry says youth are the main contributor to the nation’s development agenda, adding that they have been at the forefront in helping communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is also planning to provide a platform for youth to expand their knowledge of financial management.
