Government to set up task force to tackle environmental crimes after recent river pollution

The government is set to form a new special task force  to combat against environmental crimes.

The Environment and Water Minister says the unit is necessary due to pollution cases affecting the country's water reserves.

This follows the recent pollution of Sungai Gong in Selangor resulting in water cuts throughout the Klang Valley earlier this month.

Meanwhile the minister says the investigation paper on the Sungai Gong pollution has been sent to the Attorney General's Chambers.
