Health DG: Don't believe those peddling Covid-19 'cures' online

Don’t be fooled by irresponsible parties trying to sell Covid-19 cures over the internet.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says there is nothing in the market at the moment that has been identified as a cure for the coronavirus.

He said this in the wake of several online advertisements peddling drugs from China which claimed to be able to cure Covid-19.

Over a thousand students have tested positive

More than 1,200 school students have tested positive for Covid-19 since the third wave of the pandemic began at the end of September.

Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says the infections are from the outside, but could be spread in the schools.

He adds that since September 20th 12 schools have been closed after coronavirus cases were detected there.

Sabah advising low-risk patients to self-isolate

Low-risk Covid-19 patients in Sabah are being advised to self-isolate at home.

The state government says hospitals are running out of beds, and they need to prioritize high-risk patients or those who are deemed to have a higher chance of infecting others unless they are warded.

Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun explained that if a patient’s symptoms are manageable, they will be asked to stay and receive treatment at home for now.
