Health DG: 5 new Covid-19 clusters detected nationwide

5 new Covid-19 clusters have been detected nationwide and three of them involve construction sites.

The Tapak Bina Jalan Bukit cluster in Hulu Langat, Selangor and the Tapak Bina Jalan Stadium cluster in KL were detected through a targeted screening at a construction site.

The total number of active clusters being monitored now stands at 187.

The Health Ministry reported the highest number of new Covid-19 cases in a day yesterday at 2,234.

Selangor, Sabah and KL accounted for the bulk of infections.

Meanwhile, 3 more people have succumbed to the virus pushing the country’s fatalities to 396.

PLUS is expecting an increase of about 40 to 50 per cent in vehicle volume during the upcoming long weekends.

It says it had recorded about 1 million vehicles daily during the recent Conditional MCO.
