Economic impact not as bad if MCO 2.0 enforced

The government has been called to tighten SOPs, to combat the rise in COVID-19 infections.

Investment Strategist Ooi Chun Hwa believes the country is hurting itself by relaxing restrictions to boost the economy.

He explains that once the pandemic is controlled, the economy will recover as well.

He adds that if the govt were to enforce a second Movement Control Order, the economic impact will not be as bad as the first one.

It’s because many businesses have since adapted to the new normal and are operating online.
