MOT assures that Malaysian airports are safe.

Feb 15, 2017

The Transport Ministry assures that Malaysian airports are safe, in the wake of the death of Kim Jong Nam at KLIA 2 on Monday.

Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai rubbished speculation that security at Malaysian airports is not up to mark, saying the incident had nothing to do with safety.

This, after Jong Nam, who is the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, was allegedly poisoned by two mystery women, who are still at large.

Oriental Daily reports that the taxi driver who ferried the women away from KLIA2, has already been taken in for questioning.

Meanwhile, the deputy IGP said the police are still investigating the true identity of the victim, despite the Selangor CID police chief earlier confirming he was Kim Jong-Nam.
