MEF wants the age of retirement to be maintained at 60.

The Malaysian Employers Federation wants the age of retirement to be maintained at 60.

This follows proposals by certain quarters to the govt to extend the retirement age to 65.

The MEF told Awani, any efforts to increase the age of retirement should be done on a voluntary basis between employer and employee.

It also suggested for policies and incentives, including tax deductions, to be given to employees working after the age of 60, as it will encourage them to work.
