He was not kidnapped

Former PJ City Councillor Peter Chong was not kidnapped. 

The IGP says authorities have evidence of him passing through the immigration checkpoint in Kedah, heading into Thailand last Friday.

Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar says they are unsure why Chong went to Thailand, adding it could have been for any reason including debt.

The IGP adds, action will be taken against Chong if it's discovered that he staged his disappearance to make it appear as though he was abducted.
