Proposal for the Family Support Division to be extended to civil courts mooted by the Women and Family Development Council Convention

The Women and Family Development Council Convention has proposed for the Family Support Division to be extended to civil courts.

For now, the Family Support Division is only available at Syariah Courts to help divorced Muslim women get alimony from their husbands. 

It says at present, non-Muslim women who were divorced did not have a place to complaint and claim their rights.
