The DPM wants a new committee set up to coordinate the various private religious schools in the country.

Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says the federal govt has no intention of meddling in the affairs of state religious authorities.

This comes after the Education Minister said the ministry was prepared to cooperate and collaborate with state govts on tahfiz schools.

7 youths have been arrested for last Thursday's deadly fire at a KL tahfiz school, that killed 23 people.

Classes at the school are expected to resume by October, at a new building located not far from the location of the blaze.

The school's principal has promised the building will be inspected by the Fire and Rescue Department before it's opened to students.
