Netizens are up in arms over a viral video showing a teenager allegedly beating his mother for money.

The 15-year-old boy's father has had to lodge a police report for his family's safety, but requested for no further action to be taken on his son.

Ampang police say the video was recorded by the teen's sister.

The boy's statement has been taken and his urine tested for drugs.

The Facebook page which viraled the video has apologised for uploading the clip.
