MOH refutes HIV in Thai tinned fruits rumour

The Health Ministry has rubbished viral claims, that canned fruits imported from Thailand are tainted with HIV.
It says, HIV cannot survive in canned food, as the heat used in the canning process kills the virus.
It adds, those with doubts on food safety issues can log on to the ministry's website or facebook page.
Meanwhile the fact-checking website Snopes.com says similar rumours are several years old and have long-since been debunked.
