VX assassination unprecedented in Malaysia

The VX Nerve Agent used to murder a North Korean man at KLIA 2 two weeks ago, has never been found in M'sia before.

The Health Ministry says the chemical weapon can paralyse the nervous system and kill a person within half an hour.

However, the North Korean man died within 15 to 20 minutes of the 2 female suspects wiping the substance on his face, due to the high dosage.

Meanwhile, the medical staff who attended to the victim will be kept under observation for 2 to 3 weeks, although they show no symptoms of exposure to the VX Nerve Agent.

Authorities are concerned the effects of exposure might come later if they were only exposed to a small amount.
