Awareness among youths registering as voters is low

Awareness among youths about registering as voters, is still low.

The Election Commission says out of 30 thousand students of higher learning institutions who were surveyed, less than 10 percent have registered.

This, despite various awareness campaigns conducted to allow youths to exercise their right to vote.

Among the reasons they cited, include not knowing where to register, not wanting to be involved in politics, and feeling that their votes don't matter.
