Free rabies vaccination in Padawan, Sarawak

The Sarawak Veterinary Services Department is carrying out a free rabies vaccination campaign for dogs in the sub-district of Padawan.

Officials say the vaccination campaign is to curb a potential outbreak of the disease, as the sub-district is located just 12 kilometres away from one of the rabies-infected areas near Serian.

They're also urging owners of dogs with a history of biting people, to bring the pets in to check if the animals are infected.

The Department adds that since the rabies outbreak, more than 10 thousand dogs, cats and other animals have been vaccinated in Serian.
