Government urged to introduce mandatory pre-employment screening

An opposition lawmaker wants the government to introduce mandatory pre-employment screening, for all jobs involving children.
DAP MP Charles Santiago says these screenings should be done for teachers, volunteers and others who have access to kids.
He said this following the case of a teacher, who allegedly solicited sex from teenage girls.
The Education Ministry has already said that the teacher will be dismissed, if the allegations are true.
